I want to surprise my boyfriend in Costa Mesa and drive to see him and stay for the whole weekend but i'm really scared to drive through mountains because i don't want to like...fall off a cliff and die....He said if i go through Los Angeles I won't have to go through any but im not sure... help?

Technically, yes, you go through the Tehachapi Mountains. However, you don't need to worry. This is not like driving up to Huntington Lake on the old Toll Road. This is I-5: 3-5 lanes of wide, straight freeway. No sharp curves, no cliffs, no trees to run into. Just watch out for the other cars and the trucks, and keep driving. Seriously, NO WORRIES.
