walk. hitch hike - but could be dangerous, and in some places illegal bus - not free.

If you don't have a car and can't drive, other then hitchhike, you can take the Greyhound. I checked it out and it would cost you $74 for a roundtrip ticket. You can get more info at the Greyhound website. http://www.greyhound.com/scripts/en/TicketCenter/step1.asp

go on craigslist.com and post a ride share under community... ummm some people will give rides for free others want you to chip in for gas but it is by far the cheapest way to go... safest? nah but its better than hitch hiking... post a week or so ahead of time

couple of options open for you. Take a bus like greyhound. Take train like Amtrack. Rent a car and drive it yourself. Carpool with someone.. check craigslist
